(July 7, 2009) - The Breast Health Center at Columbus Regional Hospital has been awarded reaccreditation for a three-year term in breast ultrasound by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Accreditation is awarded to healthcare facilities for achieving the highest quality standards in breast ultrasound. The Breast Health Center is also nationally accredited through ACR for mammography service.|
ACR is a national organization representing over 32,000 diagnostic and interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, and nuclear medicine physicians. The organization is devoted to making medical imaging safe, effective, and accessible.
The Breast Health Center at Columbus Regional Hospital offers comprehensive breast health services with complete education resources, rapid diagnostic, and the latest technology for treatment and recovery. The center introduced new Breast MRI technology this year that can be used in conjunction with screening and diagnostic mammography and breast ultrasound as needed for patients.
