|Columbus - The Columbus Regional Hospital Wellness Program will offer two programs starting in January to help runners and walkers train. |
Participants in the Pace for the Race and Fit for a 5K programs will be introduced to various training methods and will go on weekly training runs/walks. Both classes will meet at 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays beginning on January 15 in the Kroot Auditorium at Columbus Regional Hospital. Classes will include presentations on nutrition, injury recognition and prevention and mental preparation.
Pace for the Race participants will meet for 15 weeks and will train to complete a half marathon. The cost is $50. Participants in Fit for a 5K will meet for eight weeks in preparation for a 5K run or walk. The cost is $30.
