CRH wins national award for mobile communications

Columbus -

Columbus Regional Health recently received a national award for its mobile website.

The award, eHealthcare Leadership Award for Best Mobile Communications for hospitals with 200 to 399 beds, was given at the 15th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference. The mobile communications award was selected based on an organization’s mobile website, mobile apps, and advertising on mobile sites, with consideration given to how well the mobile site was integrated with other communications.

“Our mobile website is just one example of our work towards enabling patients and community members with fast and easily accessible health information,” said Paige Harden, CRH public relations and marketing specialist. “This award highlights our work in making the Internet a valuable tool in helping our patients become more knowledgeable about their healthcare. We believe knowledge leads to confidence and empowerment when making healthcare decisions that are best for each individual.”

CRH launched its mobile website in 2010. Visitors can access CRH’s mobile website by typing www.crh.org into their smart phone browser. The site features links to information about physicians, hospital department information and phone numbers, locations and directions of CRH facilities, and CRH social media profiles.

“With the popularity of smart phones, we have seen a steady increase in the number of visits to the mobile site in the past 12 months,” Harden said.

The eHealth Leadership Awards program was developed by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, a leading industry resource published by Health Care Communications, Rye, NY. Nearly 1,200 entries were received from a wide range of healthcare organizations. An independent panel of judges familiar with healthcare and the Internet evaluated each entry.

Hospitals, health systems, pharmaceutical firms and online health companies were  judged in 13 different categories: Best Mobile Communications; Best Patient Access and Convenience; Best Site Design; Best Health/Healthcare Content; Best Interactive, Best Care/Disease Management; Best e-Business; Best Doctor Directory; Best Web 2.0; Best Integrated Marketing Campaign; Best Overall Internet Site; Best Intranet; and eHealth Organizational Commitment.
