Columbus Regional Health and the Columbus Regional Hospital Foundation donated a total of $26,343 to the Indiana Hospital Association’s Employee Disaster Relief Fund.
CRH held a campaign shortly after the devastating March 2 tornadoes in southern Indiana, asking employees to donate to the IHA fund. CRH and the Foundation pledged to match employee contributions, resulting in a $3 gift for every dollar raised. Employees donated $8,781, resulting in a total gift of $26,343.
“We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity and kindness we received after the flood of 2008,” said Jim Bickel, CRH president and CEO. “That support helped us through one of the toughest moments in our history and we want to pay it forward in any way we can.”
The IHA Employee Disaster Relief Fund was established 2008 and first implemented to assist hospital employees who suffered losses as a result of the 2008 flood that significantly impacted Bartholomew County. It was designed to assist hospital employees affected by disasters.
