Cardiology practice transitions to new name

Columbus -

The cardiology practice of Indiana Heart Physicians – Columbus will be transitioning to a new name effective June 1. The Columbus-based practice will now be Southern Indiana Heart and Vascular.

The new name reflects the practice’s heart and vascular services across the region, with offices in Columbus and in Seymour, Greensburg and North Vernon.

The practice is joining Columbus Regional Health Physicians (previously called Physicians Practice Organization). There are now 19 physician practice divisions representing primary care and specialty care with Columbus Regional Health Physicians.

The cardiologists and interventional cardiologists with Southern Indiana Heart & Vascular are: David Hamilton, MD; Mark Hatfield, MD; Melinda Hunnicutt, MD; Samantha Lucas, MD; Soo Park, MD; and Kevin Preuss, MD.

Firas Ghanem, MD, and Nandu Gourineni, MD, will join the practice this summer.

The practice works closely with Columbus Regional Health’s Heart & Vascular Center to provide 24/7 coverage for cardiology and interventional heart services, and with IU Health Cardiovascular to provide heart surgery at Columbus Regional Hospital.

The telephone and mailing contact information remains the same for the practice:
            Southern Indiana Heart & Vascular
            2325 18th Street Suite 130
            Columbus, IN 47201
            812-379-2020
