Healthy Lifestyles Action Team

Mission

To increase the appropriate utilization of professional health care services through self-care education and support, especially as such care relates to healthy choices regarding nutrition and physical activity.

The Healthy Lifestyles Action Team leads the Bartholomew County on the Move and Families on the Move programs each year.

The Healthy Lifestyles Action Team meets the fourth Wednesday of every month from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at Donner Center. New members are always welcome. Current work is focused on three areas: safe routes to schools, community lifestyle challenge, and development of a community bike co-op. Safe Routes to School

Safe Routes to School (SRTS) programs use a comprehensive approach to make school routes safe for children to walk and bicycle. The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corportation (BCSC) Transportation Department, community leaders, and parents are working on improving routes at the schools in our community.

Our local steering committee consists of:

The steering committee is currently working from $315,000 in federal infrastructure and noninfrastructure grants to make improvements in our community.
