Patients do better when their healthcare providers work together. “For those with diabetes, there’s strong evidence that a collaborative approach to care improves blood sugar control,” said Dr. Himani Sharma, an endocrinologist at the practice.

Dr. Sharma is board-certified in internal medicine and board-eligible in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, and she completed a fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine. Her areas of expertise include:

Diabetes Services
Another thing that helps people with diabetes thrive is understanding their condition. To that end, we often have patients work with an experienced diabetes team. Health care providers around the community also refer their diabetes patients to the team, which offers:
Research shows that this type of education and support can make a big difference in helping people manage their diabetes well.
Some people with diabetes need additional help from an endocrinologist to get their disease in control. In the past, providers had to send those patients to out-of-town specialists, where there was often a long waiting list. Now, they can refer patients to Dr. Sharma.
