Back on Track Bartholomew County — Stay Healthy at Home: Exercise

As we have all been advised to stay at home and limit our travel to only essential trips, you may find yourself becoming less active. It is important for your health and well-being to take frequent activity breaks. Here are a few creative ways to keep moving as you are restricted to your home and neighborhood.

  • Get outside and go for a run or walk
  • Go for a bike ride
  • Have fun with your children (jump rope, hopscotch, hide-and-seek, scavenger hunt, or  charades)
  • Get a family game going (soccer, tag, dodge ball, or basketball)
  • Dance to your favorite music
  • Get gardening (clean out flower beds and get started on yard work)
  • Do an exercise or strength training video
  • Play an active video game
  • Catch up with family by phone, and walk while you talk
  • Start a competition and virtually challenge your family and friends to fitness goals
  • Use a fitness app to keep you moving and inspired. Check out our blog post, "There's a Health App for That: Fitness"
