Columbus Regional Health invests in long-range future, community development potential

Columbus Regional Health is pleased to announce the purchase of a significant property on the west side of Bartholomew County as part of the next phase of our physical growth and outreach plans within the region we serve. This property acquisition signifies an investment in the long-range future of Columbus Regional Health and our community.

Southeastern Indiana Medical Holdings, an affiliate of Columbus Regional Health, purchased approximately 790 acres on the west side of Columbus near Interstate 65, from Garden City Farms LLC., and closed earlier today.

Property development plans are long range, and will not affect current maintenance or immediate development plans related to existing Columbus Regional Health properties. Columbus Regional Health strives to continually meet our patient needs, increase accessibility and connection to healthcare providers and services, and simultaneously innovate to bring this region new and expanded services. The opportunity to secure undeveloped land in a part of Bartholomew County that is accessible to not only local residents, but also regional and travelling consumers, positions Columbus Regional Health with the capability to engage in purposeful evolution and growth, and to meet anticipated future needs.

This purchase is the next step in our strong history and tradition in the community as a sustainable, reliable health system, and one of the county’s largest employers. Columbus Regional Health does not require the entire acreage for our future needs; however, the seller was not interested in subdividing the property in advance of the sale. This additional acreage creates a community development opportunity. Columbus Regional Health looks forward to working with community partners to consider and plan the purposeful development of the land.
