Biography:
Having joined the practice in 1980, Dr. Larry Olson has a truly varied background. Born in Iowa City, Iowa, he spent his boyhood years in Louisville, Kentucky with his five brothers (his twin brother is an orthopedic surgeon in Bowling Green, and another brother became a veterinarian). After capturing top honors in Mechanical Engineering at Rose Polytechnic Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana, he chose to further pursue a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Then his life took an abrupt turn and he focused all his attention toward the medical field, completing his M.D. at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Olson returned to his place of birth to complete both his residency and his internship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics because it was know to have one of the finest orthopedic departments in the country. He chose orthopedics, in particular, because he likes making people feel comfortable and helping them improve their quality of life.

Dr. Olson's love of the Midwest brought him to Columbus, believing that this was a great place to raise a family. He and his wife, Nancy, enjoy swimming, roller-blading, and snow skiing. His son, Peter is a musician in Atlanta, Georgia and daughter, Gretchen, is an occupational therapist in Indianapolis.
