From our joint replacement & spine surgery programs, we have found that our patients' active involvement in their own treatment program is critical for a successful recovery.
As a patient, you'll know what to expect six weeks before surgery, and we'll still be there to help you three months later and beyond. You'll also take a pre-operative education class where patients and "coaches" (family and friends helping you through the recovery process) will learn the details of your treatment, hospital stay, and recovery. During your hospital stay you wear your own clothes, no hospital gowns, and participate in group therapy sessions. It's an aggressive program with an emphasis on individual care in a supportive atmosphere that focuses on wellness and rehabilitation. It's more like we go through the treatment program with you, instead of just performing surgery on you.
The Columbus Regional Health Joint and Spine Center offers extensive experience and expertise in orthopedic care and spine surgery. Over 400 joint replacement and 350 spine surgeries a year are performed here. Studies show that hospitals with high volumes (more than 200 joint replacement and 100 spine surgeries) deliver better outcomes.
Our results place us in the top 15% nationally for joint surgery:
- 99% percentile (The highest you can get!) in patient satisfaction compared to 413 hospitals nationwide
- Top percentile nationally for range of motion at discharge
