Columbus Regional Hospital has appointed Pamela Missi, BSN, MSN, as the new Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer.
CNO Missi worked at Norton Healthcare System in Louisville from 1991 to 2012. She was the Director of Patient Care Services at Kosair Children’s Hospital from 2006 to 2012, and was Director of Patient Care Services at Norton Hospital from 2000 to 2006. She will begin her work at CRH on October 1.
Missi earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Spalding University in Louisville.
“Pam brings extensive leadership and healthcare experience to Columbus Regional Hospital,” said Jim Bickel, President and Chief Executive Officer. "I look forward to working with Pam as she leads our nursing services in continued clinical excellence.”
The Chief Nursing Officer is accountable for developing and communicating the vision for nursing services and leading nursing towards attainment of that vision. This position ensures nursing standards of patient care and the standards of nursing practice are developed and current with national research findings and recognized professional practice in patient care standards for all nursing personnel of the hospital.
In 2003 Columbus Regional Hospital was named Indiana's first Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence and in 2008 we were the first to be re-designated. The accreditation is awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and recognizes excellence in nursing practice and nursing care.
