Precision Technology Leads to Faster Healing

Providing high quality surgical services to patients has always been a priority at Columbus Regional Health. With recent advances in surgical technology, da Vinci® robotic surgery systems have become a viable tool in a variety of minimally invasive procedures and serve as an alternative to many traditional, open surgeries and conventional laparoscopic procedures. Watch our Robotic Surgery Video where our robotic surgeons explain the patient and surgeon benefits of Columbus Regional Health’s Robotic Surgery System.

CRH surgeons are able to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with remarkable precision while utilizing the da Vinci® Si™ Surgical System. This advanced technology can be used for a multitude of robotic surgery procedures, including, but not limited to gynecological and thoracic. The robotics surgeons at CRH are Drs. Albers, Davis, and Williams who are specialists in this minimally invasive procedure.

Robotic surgery systems are advanced machines that are always under the control of a highly trained surgeon with well-trained healthcare professionals assisting at all times. They are equipped with special instruments, such as scissors and needle holders, that are attached to robotic arms. These arms even have “wrists” that copy the movement of a real arm. The surgeon can operate these arms from a remote area that includes a computer and high-resolution video monitor. Combined, these features make it easier for surgeons to complete very delicate procedures with greater precision and dexterity.
