Please share your story of why your nurse is so special:
"Alex was my nurse when I was hospitalized for a week. He was the best RN nurse I have ever had in my life. That is saying a lot since I’ve had over 30 surgeries and over 15 hospitalizations in my life. I’m only a 35 year old female and have been through more than most ever had in a lifetime.
I’ve seen nurses every week for most of my life. Alex was kind and attentive. He advocated for my care. Even when a doctor seemed to not care, Alex did. He pushed for me to have a better standard of care for the week I was hospitalized. I would follow him to any hospital he would work because he changed my life that much in that week I was at CRH.
Since I was hospitalized during Covid, I had a hard time anyways with no visitors and not seeing my children. He helped me when I was scared after having a seizure. I am scared and usually in pain. He helped calm me down and even laugh. He made me feel safe.
As a seizure patient, it is a huge deal when I wake up from one. It is one of the most scary things to not know who, what, where or anything that has happened. Him making me feel safe and also making sure I was safe medically was a big deal for me.
He was very professional but at the same time made me laugh and got my mind off of the crappy things that were going on around me (surgeries, liquid diets, seizures, pain, C-diff, and everything else I had happen that week). I can honestly say he was the best nurse I have ever had in my lifetime, and that is saying a lot since I have probably had over 400 nurses care for me in my life.
I know he isn’t a permanent nurse at CRH, but you should really try as hard as you can to convince him to stay and be a part of CRH forever. You would have the best nurse on your staff if you did!"
