We are proud to offer a highly advanced cardiac intensive care unit, two state-of-the-art cardiac operating rooms, three cardiac catheterization labs (including the first all digital cardiac catheterization lab in Indiana) and an electrophysiology laboratory, all in Columbus.

Services at the Heart and Vascular Center include interventional cardiology procedures such as angioplasty and stenting, as well as the implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators and leadless pacemakers, electrophysiology studies and ablation, heart failure device implantation, along with structural heart procedures.

Heart Failure Management

When the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body’s demands, blood pressure within the heart is elevated and can lead to heart failure. Significant heart failure progression over a period of days is known as acute decompensation and leads to hospitalization.

The CardioMEMS HF System uses a miniaturized, wireless monitoring sensor that is implanted in the pulmonary artery during a minimally-invasive procedure to directly measure PA pressure. The system allows patients to transmit PA pressure data from their homes to their health care providers allowing for personalized and proactive heart failure management to reduce the likelihood of hospitalization.

A regional hospital with major metropolitan-like advantages

We are pleased to be among the first hospitals in Indiana to use an all-digital x-ray cardiovascular imaging system. This allows our cardiologists to see your heart more clearly than ever before, and provides for better diagnosis of and treatment for coronary artery disease. We also use PET/CT imaging for the early diagnosis of heart disease. Our team uses a cardiovascular surgery suite that is equipped with the most advanced heart care technology available. Point-of-care testing capabilities allow us to get lab results in the operating room immediately to make critical decisions faster.

The wide range of our interventional capabilities (tools and techniques that allow us to handle almost any type of heart emergency that arises) is also notable.

Our Heart & Vascular Center Providers
