Please share your story of why this technologist is so special:
"Shortly after starting our shift, Cynthia came to me and said she was concerned about one of our patients. She stated that she was pale and weak and her stool was very dark. She was concerned that she might have a GI bleed.
When I went into the patient’s bathroom, she was extremely pale, diaphoretic and couldn’t even hold her head up. When we lifted her up it was clear that she had a significant bleed and needed immediate attention. Cynthia was a step ahead through the whole process, anticipating what I needed before I asked for it and assisting in any way she could. For example, I told her that we needed to get a set of vitals on her and she already had the vitals machine by the bed ready to go.
She was extremely kind and did a great job keeping the patient calm and comfortable, grabbing warm blankets when she was shivering and rounding on her every few minutes to see how she was doing. Cynthia was a great advocate for her patient by voicing her concerns multiple times over a couple of days because she sensed that something wasn’t right. She also went above and beyond caring for the patient and keeping her comfortable while also taking care of a very heavy load of other patients.
That same shift I also had another one my patients comment on what good care she had received from Cynthia and how promptly her call light was answered all night. I appreciate Cynthia so much for doing such a great job on the floor and bringing the bleed to my attention so quickly so that we were able to page the doctor, start treatment, and get the patient moved to a step down bed before things became much worse. You are an asset to 6 tower!"
