For Hannah Stephenson, it was a “no-brainer” to join Columbus Regional Health in 2020 after seeing her sister, mom, grandma, and great-grandma dedicate many years of service to the organization. “I joined CRH because of the long history of family members who have worked there, as well as the opportunity to give back to my own community,” Hannah said.

A registered nurse in the Cancer Center, Hannah started her career at CRH as a patient care tech in the Emergency Department. She loves getting to know her patients over the course of their treatment. “Working in the Cancer Center is a very rewarding job. Patients become like family,” she said.

Hannah is proud to work at the same organization as her sister, Emily Stephenson, and mother, Lisa Thompson, and they all share that fact with new people they meet. “It is something we take pride in – that we all work for the same organization and share a passion for giving care to the people in our own community,” she said.

Lisa Thompson, is the practice manager for PromptMed, Employer Health Partners, and Occupational Health. She first joined the health system in 1989 as a student medical assistant at Columbus Internal Medicine Associates. Lisa left the organization to raise her young daughters and then returned to Columbus Gynecology and Adult Medicine in 2012 as a medical assistant and became practice manager in 2016. She is proud of the teams she manages and for having strong, supportive coworkers who are always ready to help when needed. Lisa has a passion to serve others – something she passed on to both of her daughters.

Emily Stephenson joined CRH as a Basic EMT with Ambulance City of Columbus-CRH in 2018 after years of hearing the same good stories about CRH that Hannah heard from the women in her family. “I had always heard great things about CRH from my family who worked there. I also had some friends in the EMS field who had been working for CRH and had nothing but good things to say as well,” she said.  Currently an advanced EMT, Emily is in a paramedic program and hopes to become a paramedic by the end of the year. She enjoys the variety in her work and the learning opportunities it provides. “I love the quick and critical thinking aspects of being a 911 provider. The end goal is always providing the best patient care possible, but it’s interesting to see all the ways a provider can get that done,” she said. Emily also enjoys the people she works with in EMS. “CRH EMS is truly is a family, and I have a wonderful support system,” she said. I’m incredibly proud to be able to call them not only my coworkers but also my friends.”

Even though they work in different departments, Lisa, Hannah, and Emily enjoy seeing each other in work-related capacities. “It’s always a day-brightener to show up at work and see your mom or your sister,” said Emily.

Many at CRH, including workforce members, patients, and visitors, will remember Pam Richards and Frances Underwood – they both worked for nearly five decades in Food Service. Frances, Lisa’s grandmother, worked as a Food Service Aide and Pam, Lisa’s mother, worked as a Food Service Ambassador, delivering food to patients on the floors. They both retired in 2020. “I have always been proud of having four generations at CRH and feel it shows our dedication to not only helping people but also in working for such a great organization,” said Lisa.
