Trauma Nurse Core Course at CRH

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) was developed by the Emergency Nurse’s Association because every second counts when stabilizing life-threatening trauma cases. At CRH we have been offering our emergency nurses TNCC to prepare them with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and training needed to provide high-quality trauma nursing care.

Today there are now 53 nurses who have TNCC certification. Two of those nurses became TNCC instructors in 2021. In 2023, six more completed the training to become instructors and one of them a course director as well. "We are now fully equipped to be self-sufficient in offering TNCC to our nurses," said RN Clinical Educator Sasha Decker, RN, MSN, Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Trauma Certified RN (TCRN), and TNCC director and instructor. "This is a huge benefit for our patients, community, and organization." Sasha and the other instructors are grateful for the funding support provided by CRH Foundation for the TNCC program.

Congratulations to the following individuals on earning TNCC certification and to those who became instructors and a director! The instructors and director are pictured in the above photo.

Workforce Spotlight: Vivian White, RN, Nursing Resources

Photo of Vivian and Pat White in garden.

Vivian White joined CRH 23 years ago after working in her local school system while raising four sons. When her youngest son was a senior in high school, she started studying for her Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree. Upon earning her ASN, she applied to CRH. “Columbus Regional took me under their wing when I had no experience. They oriented me, and they made me the nurse that I am now,” Vivian said.
