Biography
Prior to joining Southern Indiana Surgery in 2013, Dr. Burdick was a staff general surgeon at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, serving 50,000 active-duty men, women and their families. He received the Navy Commendation Medal in 2011 and has volunteered his time and talents to several medical missions in South America.
Dr. Burdick’s exemplary military service also includes:
- Ship’s surgeon on board the USS George Washington aircraft carrier
- Western Pacific deployment after the Japanese earthquake and tsunami
- Named lieutenant commander of United States Navy Medical Corps in 2011
Dr. Burdick received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine after attending Wabash College for his undergraduate education. He co-chaired the 2003 Alternative Spring Break Medical Mission to Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua.
Dr. Burdick is married to Laura Burdick, M.D., a practicing physician at Dermatology Physicians Inc. in Columbus, IN.
