Surgical Services Upgrades da Vinci Robot

The new da Vinci Xi robot in surgical services at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Surgical Services has completed an upgrade from the Intuitive Surgical da Vinci Si Robot (purchased in 2012) to the da Vinci Xi technology.

Since 2012, CRH has completed over 1,100 robotic procedures with the da Vinci technology for gynecology, urology, and general surgery specialties.

Benefits of this new system include:

  • Streamlined setup and positioning
  • Optimized patient-side access
  • Increased range of instrument motion
  • Advanced instrumentation
  • Enhanced visualization

All of these benefits combine for a broader, more advanced CRH robotic procedural offering.

Workforce Spotlight: Vivian White, RN, Nursing Resources

Photo of Vivian and Pat White in garden.

Vivian White joined CRH 23 years ago after working in her local school system while raising four sons. When her youngest son was a senior in high school, she started studying for her Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree. Upon earning her ASN, she applied to CRH. “Columbus Regional took me under their wing when I had no experience. They oriented me, and they made me the nurse that I am now,” Vivian said.
