Bariatric Center Changes Name to "Weight Loss Institute"

Effective September 1, 2021, the Bariatric Center of Columbus Regional Health will operate under the new name of the Weight Loss Institute of Columbus Regional Health.

The new name reflects the thorough level of care provided, which goes far beyond bariatric services. Led by Dr. David Lee, the Weight Loss Institute offers comprehensive treatment — from start to finish. It provides patients with a multidisciplinary approach during their weight loss journey. Services include weight loss surgery, non-surgical weight loss options, nutritional counseling, psychological testing, exercise therapy and more.

The diverse team of specially-trained surgeons, doctors, dietitians, psychologists and nurses address each patient’s medical, nutritional, physical, mental and emotional needs throughout their weight loss journey. In that regard, Weight Loss Institute is a more appropriate, all-encompassing name to reflect the in-depth, multilayered weight loss program.

Workforce Spotlight: Vivian White, RN, Nursing Resources

Vivian White joined CRH 23 years ago after working in her local school system while raising four sons. When her youngest son was a senior in high school, she started studying for her Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree. Upon earning her ASN, she applied to CRH. “Columbus Regional took me under their wing when I had no experience. They oriented me, and they made me the nurse that I am now,” Vivian said.
