CRH Achieves Primary Stroke Certification

Columbus Regional Health is pleased to announce it has received recognition for Primary Stroke Certification from the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).

Certification is a process through which healthcare organizations demonstrate compliance with national standards. Certification by ACHC reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

Primary Stroke Certification is awarded every three years. This certification provides a framework to continue to improve patient outcomes that align with our commitment to a higher standard of clinical services. By being recognized as a Primary Stroke Center, that means CRH is able to not only provide standard stroke care, but also use the clot-busting medication (if the patient meets eligibility) to provide the best possible outcomes. To obtain the certification, the Stroke Team at CRH underwent rigorous onsite reviews, observations and interviews. An ACHC surveyor evaluated CRH compliance with the certification standards. The standards included: stroke program management, delivering and facilitating clinical care and performance measures. Our achievement of this certification signifies that the service we provide has the critical elements to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes.
