Earlier this year our Cath Lab electrophysiology team, led by Dr. Albert Sey, completed their first procedure using the Varipulse Platform for atrial fibrillation (AFib).

Varipulse uses pulsed field ablation (PFA) therapy, which is a catheter-based treatment that uses rapid, high-voltage electrical pulses to destroy problematic heart tissue. Varipulse PFA therapy allows for more efficient, safer, and enhanced procedures through detailed imaging alongside use of intracardiac echocardiography guidance for ablation procedures. It helps to enhance electrical pathway mapping within the heart, allowing for more precise treatment and ablation of the areas of the heart causing AFib. Varipulse PFA enables the physician to deliver precise energy to specific areas of the heart in great detail, with less reliance on x-ray radiation for safer, more predictable outcomes and long-term effectiveness of ablation treatment.
