Columbus Regional Health COVID-19 Community Survey Results

Columbus Regional Health thanks the many community members who recently completed our COVID-19 community survey to help us understand different aspects of personal well-being, the community and CRH’s response to COVID-19, and overall perceptions you were willing to share. As we continue to evaluate these responses in order to enhance future CRH communications, we are pleased to share the survey responses.

With 75% of respondents rating the seriousness of the COVID-19 crisis as extremely serious, you indicated protecting your own health and the health of your family or loved ones, in addition to finding treatment for yourself or a loved one if affected by COVID-19 among your most important concerns. The vast majority of respondents indicated that you feel either very informed or informed on social distancing, masking in public, and other preventative measures.

Nearly half of respondents stated that you seek COVID-19 updates on a daily basis, and your local hospital/health system or other provider, in addition to the Centers for Disease Control/World Health Organization, were your top two sources. Specific to Columbus Regional Health, our Facebook, CRH.org website, and e-newsletter were your three top sources for COVID-19 communications. We appreciate your confidence in our health system as the primary method for you to receive COVID-19 communications.

Many of you shared how you are spending time due to social distancing measures, and that has included reading and writing more; watching movies and TV and listening to music; and cleaning, participating in home projects, and cooking.

Your preferred method for receiving updates from healthcare providers is through MyChart or other patient portal as well as via text message. While some of you had to cancel appointments due to COVID-19, the vast majority of you indicated that you kept your health a top priority and rescheduled the appointment. And nearly two-thirds have not put off seeking medical care during this time. As many providers have offered telehealth visits as a way to see patients during COVID-19, survey respondents indicated that they would like to continue having telehealth opportunities with a primary care physician because of its flexibility, convenience, and insurance coverage.

We are grateful for our community’s response to this survey and will continue to evaluate how we can further address these responses. Columbus Regional Health continues to monitor the community and health impact of this virus and has expanded care options for patients so that they can receive the care they need in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
